Rachel Dashae

Rachel is a traveling model hailing from Richmond, VA. I remember when I was exploring the opportunity to start photographing people. I happened to come across a picture of Rachel and everything changed. The picture with Rachel on the rug above was it. I wanted to make a photos that had that type of feel and lighting. It spoke volumes, but at the time I didn't know who Rachel was.

Then came the day I was searching for models for my first book. As I was searching, I came across Rachel's profile on Modelmayhem. I still didn't know that the person I was emailing the same person in photo. We scheduled to shoot and I got to talking to her and then it dawn on me! It was the same person. I almost went full fan girl. I did tell her though that she inspired me to become a photographer.

Rachel style is a mostly very expressive imagery. She does do nude and implied work, but it some of the most amazing images I have seen. She is fully aware of her body and I love the fact that when working with her she doesn't require much instructions. Extremely professional and passionate about her craft. If she is every in your area, please schedule a shoot with her. It is worth it.

Inspiration Corner: Photographers #2

Here is another inspiration corner post featuring another artist that greatly inspires me.

Emily Soto

A lot of my high fashion images are based off of Emily Soto's work. I was drawn to her beauty looks, lighting and the way she draws out the passionate expressions of her models. Lately, she has been doing a lot of work inside of studios which is great, but I am not your typical studio shooter. I try to avoid that situation like the plague.

Her amazing talent doesn't just fall under photographer. She also teaches, she does workshops all over the country. She has won awards, constantly is published and she is a real people person. She actually takes time to talk to her fans and fellow photographers.

Inspiration Corner: Photographers #1

I am going to start writing a blog post about artist in the world who help inspire me. From photographers, to models, to painters, etc. So without further ado...

Larry Alan Photography

Larry Alan and I are good friends. He has been doing photography longer than me, but our meeting was almost like the cosmos wanted us to know each other. I actually made a post about my experience meeting Larry Alan in person for the first time which you can read here: Arizona Trippin'

I would have to describe Larry's style as being strong, smack yo momma in the face, rebel, and rule-breaking. He goes off script and creates the art he seems fit. Not saying no one else does, but he is one of the few people who when they do it, looks amazing IMO. I don't know where some of his older work is posted nowadays, but he would write many amazing stories to accompany his photos and it was the way I first found out about him. Through time he has been gifted with working with clothing designers and releasing several photobooks.

Lastly, he is his own boss. Some clients come with a concept, but Larry's is one of the few who gives them what they need and not what they want and the clients love that about him.

Jess Licciardello Graphic Tee Shoot

So, I had a very interesting photoshoot with Kels yesterday for Jess Licciardello. Jess is amazing artist I found on Instagram. I posted a few weeks ago about wanting to work with more designers so she sent me one of her graphic tees she needed shot. The shirt is amazing! Very colorful and full of wondrous designs. Fun with Hope

As things start to slowdown and I am making plans for the holidays with family and working on my two books. I am doing more stress free shoots (not that many of my shoots are stressful!) just for fun. It's freeing and relaxing, and I got to photograph a good friend of mine who I use to be in the military with.
