32 Degrees!! New York!!!

This is a two part speed edit from my recent trip to New York. The two models are Jasmine and Deshae. MUA: Lisette Muñoz Arroyo. Much love to Manny Aroyo (Manny Aroyo Photography)

A big things to Carly Rocks Photography for hosting us and the city of New York for having us.

This was one of the coldest photoshoots I have ever done and I am extremely proud of both models for their perseverance through it all.

Test Shoot: Anna H

Anna H (@anna_baby22) is a college student who is studying acting right now. I have known her for a few months now. Mostly from doing work with Deshae (check out the video at the very bottom) on his comedy sketches. Anna has a very exotic look about her and I suggested that she should let me see what she can do in front of my camera. She agreed, we kept the shoot very simple. Shooting in Deshae's home using a combination of natural light and a softbox light. I had her go through 10 frames challenges and I had her show me various expressions and poses to see what her range is. The camera likes her and I think I will be working with her again for modeling projects in the near future. In the meantime checkout some of the images.

DC Beauty

I was contacted by the beautiful Heidi E. for a shoot in DC. The shoot was to be shot at the Botanical Gardens in DC. I had never been there before and I was a bit nervous that they wouldn't let us shoot there. The only restriction they had was that the images were for, "personal" use and I couldn't bring any lights in. I was fine with that because there was abundance of light available and plus it was cloudy so it was perfect. The Gardens was very humid which I was not prepared for and I started to sweat, I had to actually strip down to just a t-shirt (removing my long sleeve shirt and jacket). There were quite a few people inside and they watched us shoot. There was a little boy who kept trying to get in the pictures with Heidi, which was cute.

Cinemagraph: 1st Attempt

For the past couple of months I have been very intrigued with Cinemagraph. A Cinemagraphs are still photographs in which a minor and repeated movement occurs. They are published in either animated GIF format or as video, and can give the illusion that the viewer is watching a video.

I did this cinemagraph with Deshae (Shae Speaks TV) after filming one of his sketches. I like how the video turned out for a first try. I need now think of more challenging cinemagraphs to create.

Comments are welcomed.

5 Things I won't do

I think people to need to realize the different between a "artist" and a "photographer". I am a artist and my camera is my paintbrush.
