Beast Mode engaged / Moist

...but what does that titling mean Jason?

Shout out to all the Minions of the world...

Shout out to all the Minions of the world...

It's been a very busy month for me. Got a lot of plans that are coming up. Working on two books currently. Got trips to Wisconsin (WHAT?) to shoot and to see family. Then turn around and I am heading to Miami to shoot as well. Of course trips to NY and NJ are all sprinkled in the mix as well.

We are more than halfway through the year and I haven't really hit all of my goals for this year. Maybe I put too much in front of me, but it can't be that bad right? The Beast Mode is just how I feel about some of the recent shoots I have done. Looking back I am quite proud of the creativity that had been created. Meeting and working with new people that are reliable is very refreshing. I am definitely thriving in this teamwork environment and the work that I have displayed shows it.

MOIST

Okay, so this shoot was really amazing for me and very very painful. Some of you know that I have a pretty messed up back. Two herniated disc with a healthy side serving of sciatica in my right leg. Well, it flared up 3 days prior to the shoot. I try to get into a doctor's office (chiropractor) before the date, but was unable too. So I knew that based on the fact I will be shooting looking downwards my back was going to be screaming in pain. On top of that I don't like taking pain medication, so I had no choice but to stretch and take some 'magnesium' and ride this pain out. I wasn't going to cancel this shoot because of pain.

My MUA was Serena Russell, who was recommend to me by Ashley Love. I told Serena the concept and also that I don't know much about make up. I wanted her to take the information I gave her and create something unique and cool. Something that stood out. She delivered and I was pleased with her work.

My models were Satine Lynn and Kelz. I have worked with Satine more than once now and she has quickly become a favorite of mine. She is very easy to work with and she has very elegant old medieval times type of look about her. Kelz (in blue), is fairly new to modeling, but she is amazingly beautiful. I love her bright eyes and skin tone.

Special thanks to Joy for helping me with all the extra little things with the shoot. Like moving the flowers, adjusting the ladies hair for me etc. Also, special thanks to Doug Kean of THATstudio for letting us utilize his studio.

Without further ado here are the photos and very very quick behind the scenes video from the shoot.

New York Excursion

I love going to New York and New Jersey to do photoshoots and networking. This particular trip to NY was more personable to me because my bestfriend came to town. She is one of the most beautiful women in the world and truly a natural at modeling...but this isn't her job at all. "Bella" is a college student who in majoring in Interior Design. When I say she is extremely talented she really is! She can draw, paint, sketch anything. I am blessed to know her and she is one of my biggest supporters. I wish there was a way to show off her artist designs she has created. She actually sent me a portrait made out of paper mache of my English Bulldog Krixus for my birthday. PAPER-FRIGGIN'-MACHE!!! Who does that?

Whenever Bella and I do a shoot it doesn't feel like work and it's a nice breakup from the norm of things. We literally walked for a long bit just talking and would just grab shots here and there. No lights, no reflectors, just stop take a picture, talk and walk some more. I already miss her and I know when I go back to Wisconsin later this Summer I will be doing a shoot with her.

....and it will be full of complete awesomeness...
